We had our anatomy scan yesterday, and overall baby looks healthy!! The baby has Single Umbilical Artery, which means that instead of 1 vein and 2 arteries, our baby only has one. The doctor explained that from this point forward, I will meet with a specialist every 4 weeks to have another ultrasound and track growth. We scheduled a visit for this coming Monday, so in the meantime I had to do some research to see what we could be dealing with..

I never recommend googling, I learned this when I was pregnant with Jax.. but I proceeded with caution. I was able to learn that SUA effect an average of 1 in 500 pregnancies.. of the babies diagnosed with SUA, 75% are born perfectly healthy. I like those odds. Babies who do have further complications usually stem from other abnormalities found on in the anatomy scan, such a chromosomal defects or heart complications. 

Although healthy, babies with SUA can be born small, hence the reason I will need to be monitored from this point forward. 

Overall, I am happy with the news we received.. overall we have a very healthy baby! And we confirmed gender!! I will announce soon ;) 

20 weeks!

**baby update**
I just realized I have been so busy with the finalizing the wedding (which some of you told me you got the wedding announcements! that's great! I hope you liked them) and getting "after the wedding" plans situated... I totally neglected to update everyone on baby Jaxon!

As of this upcoming Sunday, I will be 20 weeks pregnant (HALF WAY!). On Monday; I had my regular check-up, which went very well.. We got to have a second ultra-sound because it was scheduled before all that other test business, and my baby boy is still looking healthy! They said he is in the 50% percentile as far as size for my stage in the pregnancy and there was no protein in my urine this time! (which means no signs so far of pre-eclampsea)

And for those of you who do not know yet, yes I have felt the baby kick! (:
