A Christmas Engagement!

12.27.2011

Colton spent Christmas with my family. Among a bunch of my families closest friends we all have a night full of games, food and Just Dance.

Christmas morning here was at my house bright and early! He had only a few gifts under the tree... but I hope he knows how hard it was for me to find those gifts! haha.

The day after Christmas he asked me if I wanted to pick out a ring. We had talked about it a lot before, but we wanted to be 100% sure we were doing what was right for us AND the baby. As much as we both wanted to be in the babies life... we didn't want it to suffer from our mistakes.

We didn't announce it to everyone until we had the rings back from being fitted and needless to say mine is beautiful!

WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!

Colton: Arizona Bound

12.14.2011

First, can I just ask you to imagine yourself in his shoes... one day your working hard, living a good life is the heart of the only state you've ever known, and one day you move 800 miles away to become a part of some strange family and raise a baby. It was only the cherry on top of the Sunday that it was weeks before the first Christmas he would be spending without his family. I thank Heavenly Father EVERYDAY for the strength that boy had to leave everything and be with me.

And everyday since he has shown me what a sweet selfless man he is.

I know that drive wasn't easy at all for him. He had never driven great distances before, which if any of you haven't... avoid it!

Meeting the family went surprisingly well, but I guess I shouldn't have been so worried. Colton is good with people. My siblings love him to death, and my dad doesn't hate him... so I feel like we are doing good right?!

Hearing the Heart Beat

12.09.2011

They say you can't hear the heart beat for 8 weeks. I found out when I was about 4 weeks pregnant. So after month or so, I set up an appointment with the OBGYN.

I had never even been to a lady doctor before, Its actually not that bad. Plus I had my mother there.

After looking at my ultrasound they decided I was actually 9 weeks and 1 day.

Due date: June 24th

Thanksgiving in Utah

12.03.2011

At this point, I had told Shannon everything. Even though she is at BYU going to school, she was about the only girlfriend I had left, so she gets to hear all my complaining and I LOVE her for being so amazing about it!

My family and I went to Utah to see my grandparents for Thanksgiving. And of course this meant they wanted to meet Colton. Not meet him as the 11 year old I knew in junior high, but as the 'boy who got me pregnant'. Which is something I DREADED for weeks.

That was the first and only time I ever doubted his love and support for me. He came up sick the day he was supposed to come (which I still don't know if that was ever true) and it never happened before we left again for Arizona. For obvious reasons, I got a lot of crap from my family about that whole thing.

But I honestly was much more concerned about being car sick on a 13 hour drive! To this day, I have not gotten morning sickness... but boy was I uneasy on that drive!
